Honey I Shrunk the 401K: The 1965 Volvo PV544
The Volvo PV544 might be mostly recognizable as the car the Rick Moranis’ character drove in Honey I Shrunk the Kids, but tipper SecondMouse calls it “the ’65 Volvo that is NOT an 1800” and had this to say about the old Swede: If you have seen enough old Volvo Amazons and 1800s, here is a beautiful and relatively rare 1965 PV544. This was the last year they were made (except for the wagon version, which went on for a few more years). I love these classic, indestructible Volvos, and with their climbing prices, I am clearly not alone. The owner says this two door four seater has less than 75,000 miles on it (that’s like 1400 miles a year) and is a four speed standard. Offered in Katy TX for $14,000, which compares well to recent PV544 listings if it is as good as it looks. If I had the $, you would not be looking at it right now. Find this 1965 Volvo PV544 offered for $14000 in Katy, TX via craigslist.
