Hecho en Brasil: 1952 MP Lafer

Hey buddy, check out this Lafer. Oh yeah, that’s funny, looks like an MG. No man, its an MP Lafer. A what now? A Beetle based kit car built in Brazil by Parcival Lafer in 1970s. Ok, now you are just making stuff up. No, a Brazilian guy built a few thousand of these fiberglass bodied things and powered them with a rear-mounted Beetle engine. Now that is just strange. Find this 1952 MP Lafer offered for $9,500 in Florence, NJ via craigslist. Tip from PA Cyclist.

1) while the OPs ad is truly minimal, that is one mighty clean looking VW engine, for any kit vehicle sourced decades ago. this kit certainly looks very clean, complete and well built. Just comes with that cognitive dissonance of engine sound not emanating from directly behind the “radiator”.
2) Hecho en Brasil. Seeing as the largest S American country is a Portuguese speaking nation, I take it that the use of Spanish in the title descriptor is DTs trademark ironic humor.
1) Agreed
2) Sim
As a Brasilian passport holder, meh. Lots of Portanol down south.
Also lots of cooler cars available than this one too, IMHO.
