Happy 9.28 Day: 1985 Porsche 928

Oh man, I missed it!! Yesterday was 9/28…which is 928 day. HOW COULD I HAVED MISSED 9-28? The Porsche that nobody loved when new…hated when used…but they are finally coming around as a classic. Yes, them, they, their…you know. The popup headlights and curvaceous rear end (ohh yeah) has aged well and the 928 is a classic destined for greatness and ridiculous price appreciation in the next (shakes the magic 8-ball…) decade. Love the car, just had the fuel lines at the back of engine replaced.
Driver seat has some wear and cracking.
Paint looks great. No rust.
Tired of paying storage fees so getting rid of cars plus I don’t drive them enough. 3000 miles in five years. Two oil changes in last 1500 miles.
Air blew cold until this year because it sat so long and not. Haven’t had time to do a recharge.
Has electrical gremlins as the warning lights come on when hitting a bump. Installed new battery with a battery disconnect as it sits for durations.
Well loved.
If this is still up it’s still available.

Well you missed 914 day too.
Went looking for 930s but they are all a bit spendy for DT.
Flogged a 928GT on the Charlotte Motor Speedway in early late 80’s/early 90’s at a Porsche Ride & Drive.
944 Turbo was faster, but the sounds of the wound up 32v V8? Intoxicating. And it was solid as a bank vault.

If you’ve never watched the classic Top Gear “Cheap Porsche Challenge” (Season 5, Episode 6), it’s worth it.
Jeremy, Richard and James were all given £1500 to buy whatever Porsche they could get for that amount.
The hapless trio then had to put their cars through a variety of challenges, some of which included actually driving the cars.
I won’t give up the punch line. If you like Top Gear, DON’T GOOGLE the chatter on this show… JUST WATCH IT.
