I had to do a double-take when I read this next car listing. The seller says he had a Fiat 500 with a bad battery so he swapped in a Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle engine into it…what? Isn’t a battery a $100 at Costco..oh…a 500e electric battery. That makes sense. This thing might be a bit of a handful, but I support every of the thirteen screaming thousand RPM of the little beast. I have a Fiat 500e that had a bad battery.located in Petaluma California. I removed all the electric drive train and installed a 2006 GSXR1000 engine in it.
This is a running, driving project. Registration was about to expire, so it is now on non-op.
This Fiat is still front wheel drive and also chain drive! It is a complete sleeper and was an electric car.
I used a starter motor as a reverse, but it isn’t very strong, but will move car backward easily on flat ground.
It is using the engines gearbox and clutch.
I am not satisfied with the gearing I put in, so it doesn’t take off from a stop overly quick, but once going, it rips with a 13,000 redline. Will drive down freeway semi unnoticed until you downshift a couple gears and hit powerband. Everyone’s head turns when you snap the throttle.
Shifting is done by cable and shift handle with hand clutch.
Has a 15 gallon fuel cell
This car is certainly not for everyone, but if you tinker and fabricate, it could be for you.
Firm on price, but also open to trades.

love the interior finish details. uh, yeah. Dont live there, but- after reading all about California Smog testing, is this exempt, having been manufactured as an electric vehicle? Still fuzzy on how the gear selection works. I understand the hand clutch. modern motorcycles shift with foot pedal sequential lever. how is this implemented with that … handlebar…penetrating the perforated center console? – – and reverse? assume this means get to neutral and engage/actuate a starter motor ? these are some pretty significant anti-theft modifications, bordering on “There, i fixed it” implementation. I couldn’t put this together for $4250, and it looks like it would be fun to run up to 13k RPM.
The shifter looks to me like the handlebar/clutch lever are an all in one. You pull in the clutch lever and bang it back and fourth to shift. My concern would be if you’re doing that if the chain can handle the strain of the extra weight.
/If I was a billionaire, I’d soon not be because I’d buy all sorts of stupid fun toys like this.
