Grom Cracker: 2015 Honda Grom

A lot of us have fond memories of riding mini bikes when we were kids.  Why should those memories end now that you are (purportedly) grown up.  Sure, you could buy a Chinese pocket bike that should last a couple of evenings in the cul de sac before it breaks.  And there is always buying an old Z50 Monkey, but like everything else, the survivors have become dear and it may not have a title.   Or you could choose none of the above and get Honda’s new-ish mini and license it for the street.  Find this 2015 Honda Grom for sale in Auburn, WA for $3,500 via craigslist.

The Honda Grom is a 125cc mini bike that actual adults can ride comfortably (sort of).  Also called the MSX125 outside of the U.S., it is built by Honda in their Thailand factory.   It’s powered by a four stroke single with fuel injection and electric start, and since Honda is behind it, it feels like a real motorcycle and not a Chinese toy that you’d find at your local O’ReillyBoysZone.

It comes equipped with a four speed transmission and an honest to god clutch on the left side of the handlebar.  It’s top speed is 60mph, but its more of an urban street fighter vs. something you’d ride the super slab to Sturgis on.  This particular bike has a lot of custom stuff sprinkled on it, to the tune of $2,000 over the $3,000 or so MSRP that it started with.
