Great Taste, Less Torque: 2005 Mazda RX-8
They say less is more. But who are they? Does that apply to torque from an internal combustion engine? And have they ever driven a Mazda RX-8? With 232 horsepower the 6-port Renesis has a decent amount of thrust at redline, but with only 159 ft-lbs of torque, this isn’t exactly a tractor…but if you like your engines to be piston-free…the RX-8 was the last hurrah for Wankel’s legendary rotary and they aren’t getting any younger. Find this 2005 Mazda RX-8 offered for $5500 in Santa Clarita, CA via craigslist.

Up for sale is is my 2005 Mazda Rx-8 in Winning Blue Metallic. Limited number of these is 2005. Non sunroof model. Engine and Transmission in great shape. Engine was rebuilt with only 30k current miles! Was maintained at Mazda Dealership most of its life. The car simply handles, revs, and drives like a dream. Enthusiast maintained with regular premix at every fill up. Stock cat has been re-installed but I will include the aftermarket mid pipe to allow for premix and longevity. Winning!! Is it ironic that my inbox contained email from LeMons with one of these in the headlines? This car is only an order of magnitude more $ than the LeMons stipulated price but the shoe looks like it still fits. I’ll give it Mazda for nailing the Sleek Rapid Mechanized Personal Transport Vehicle of the Near Future look before four door coupes were “cool”.
