Got A Match? 1999 Toyota Camry El Camino

Nothing burns quite like a pile of pallets soaked in gasoline. Furthermore, I don’t think I’ve seen a pile of pallets that I haven’t wanted to burn more than the one in this photo. Don’t bother unloaded them from the car. Find this 1999 Toyota Camry El Camino offered for $3000 in Woodbridge, VA via elcaminobook palletplace. Tip from ME.

When I first saw this I thought oh, v6 w/5 spd conversion interesting. When you want a Subaru Baja but can’t afford one make you own. Bet those frameless rear side windows are rattling even at idle and are not long for this world(really can’t believe they haven’t already been shattered). Lack of interior pictures or how the builder handled the custom fabrication of the cab are definitely detractors.
I’m a bit mystified why they kept the rear door glass in place at all, doubt they even function. Still a neat approach to have the rollbar braces approximate the shape of the original rear door frames. Also not very useful as a pickup with that brace between the rear strut turrets.
As for why this car for this conversion, I can only imagine a tree fell on the back end, crushing the original trunklid, rear roof and glass.
“Yeah, I got a match, your butt and my face.”
“Oh. Wait. Was it my butt and your face..?”
If you’re into old movie/TV westerns and haven’t seen Rustler’s Rhapsody, it’s worth it.
The intro scene is epic if you can see it on a really big screen with surround sound.
