German Built: 1972 Mercury Capri V6
I seriously hate to post another German Capri on the site because the first generation Capri is one of those hidden gems of the vintage automotive world. It offers a unique combination of driveability, fun, coolness, price, and …well…uniqueness that is hard to beat for the market price. Shhhhhhhhhh. Don’t tell anyone. We don’t want price on these things to pull an aircooled Porsche. Pleeeeeeeeeease stay cheap Mr Capri! Find this 1972 Mercury Capri V6 offered for $10,500 in Lompoc, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

72 had the 2.6 V-6, 2.8 came out a few year's later
I have always loved these cars, just never had the opportunity to own one, and they are getting hard to find. Want this one badly, but can't furnish the funds right now.
Had a '74 V6 4-speed, cosmetically similar except for plastic impact bumpers and larger tail lights. My first car bought new. Drove cross-country east to west, occasional 3-digit speeds across Texas (still took forever to get through). Nice little coupe except for an occasional stumble after 1-2 shift, probably from new emissions equipment that wouldn't be present in this '72. Sold it a couple years later to buy a '67 Porsche 912. Wish I had both back. Would be on this if it were on the right coast.
I've seen a couple of these local to me in the past couple of years. Rusty carp buckets. Made me stop looking. This one is sweet. If it runs as good as it looks 10K is probably not out of line…
I was lucky enough to have one in the early '70s (w/ the 2.0 litre). This looks clean, in fact too clean to turn it into a Parana which is where I'd really like to be in one.
These are lots of fun, I had a 78 with a 2.8 and 4 speed. Adding sway bars and good tires made it corner. Small 4 bbl carb, Offenhauser manifold and headers made it go pretty good. Glasspacks made it sound good. That car would be a lot of fun for 10.5K
Ditto.drove a '73 ( might have been '72) had the small bumpers, when I spent a summer in Sweden back in '76. I think this is a might high on the ask but it only takes one buyer. Most of the ones Ive seen were in dark green with brown interior though the one I drove was the ever ugly brown exterior. Sunroof is a plus as is the 4 speed…………..but….but…but…but
We were in HS and my buddy and I kidnapped his fathers 2.0 manual and hung an Ansa exhaust on it for a shop class project. Dad wouldn't drive it again; that's one way to get your first car.
