General Wee: 1991 Geo Metro Hatchback

Driving a 3-cylinder Geo is like embracing frugality on wheels. The simplicity of its features challenges your preconceptions of a car, and there’s a certain liberating, almost Tibetan monk-like, freedom in living with less. However, this sense of contentment fades quickly during extended trips or when you crave swift acceleration. The constant drone of the three-cylinder engine exposes its inefficiency in the context of American driving. Find this 1991 Geo Metro offered for $2500 in Starkville, MS via facejump dukesplace.

I had an employee once who weighed about 240, and whose oleaginous corpus drove one of these every day. Seeing him getting in and out of the car sometimes with his similarly oleaginous corpused mother cemented in my tiny mind the requirements for owning one of these. Throw in it’s Mississippi location and it makes perfect sense.
