Future Classic? 1986 Shelby Dodge Charger
Time to highlight a limited production turbocharged hatchback ’80s machine because they are cheap and fun! The ’80s Dodge Charger was a Dodge Omni masquerading as a Charger – an emasculated version of a once brutal tire burning muscle machine…until Carroll Shelby got his 10-gallon hat involved and made a hot version. Anything with the legendary Texas chicken farmer’s name on the side (and the seats, glove box door, belts..etc) is probably gonna be worth more than scrap value in the future, so get this one while it is cheap! Find this 1986 Shelby Dodge Charger offered for $1900 in Boise, ID via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

1986 Dodge Charger Shelby
This is a rare car and getting harder to find. Only a little over 800 Shelby’s in 1986 had this paint scheme, Silver with blue accent. Most were blue with silver accent.
2.2 liter, 4 cylinder motor with manual 5 speed Transmission, this car runs and drives good.
The car looks to have light hit on the front drivers side. On the exte9 i’mrior there is surface rust, no major rust that I can see. The only rust area under the car is the drivers floor pan. It has an area that is rusted through.
The drivers side seat is broken, cannot adjust the back. When driving the car, you lean back a bit. Carpet needs to be cleaned. Seats are in decent condition. Headliner needs replaced. Tires are in good shape.
I just put 600 miles on the car in the past 3 weeks. It is my current daily driver. I put around 30 miles a day on the car both freeway (it does 80 mph with ease) and down town Boise city driving. I runs great and is still pretty fast. Just under 105k miles, but it is going up.
The title is a clear Idaho title.
$1900 obo.

Happy memorial day DTers.
I like this lil' Charger, could not live with that interior.
Have driven a few of these same body style not the Shelby version horrible build quality just junk.
Not one of CS better moves but at this money who cares.
I've never seen this color combo before, so I don't doubt that it's rare.
This was the normal color combo in 1983 – 1986. Also available in the reverse color scheme. Damn near bought one new in 1985, but I needed a truck, so it didn't happen. Owned three Shelby Chargers several years back. One was a great parts car. You guys need to remember that for the 1980s, this was indeed performance! They were fun cars to drive, insanely easy to service, and for the day, were the ticket to fun.
This one looks like it would be a presentable war with new carpet, some minor seat work, and some paint work. If it's a good runner and is complete, the buy-in seems quite reasonable.
This is incredible to see. This particular color combo I believe is not original. The gray is much too dark. I owned an 86 shelby that looked exactly like this, and I suspect this actually might be my old car. In some places I could see the original silver that was painted over coming though. The paint stripping and front fender damage looks identical to what I remember. I miss this car.
