Fuel Saver: 1993 BMW 525i E34

A few months ago I would have told you that the only E34 you should own is an M5 or 540i 6-speed version, but with the price of fuel heading into clown territory I am ready to change my tune. So let’s sing a song about the M50B25 inline-6 mated to a 5-speed. Find this 1993 BMW 525i E34 offered for $7,900 in Reseda, CA via craigslist.

Also, the six cylinder ones don’t have that annoying coolant tube inside the motor. The one that’s known for starting to leak and requires pretty much disassembling the whole motor to change a pair of two dollar O-rings.
So you can’t just throw some Bar’s Leaks in there, or Zerex ?

@MattC – Nah, that tube is just under the intake manifold. Not that bad of a job. The REAL worry on E34 era V8s is the Nikasil cylinder coating problem. Drove one at a used car place with this problem and the engine felt like it was intentionally unbalanced. That is a new block to fix.
That doesn’t sound too bad, if you catch the leak early enough. I was under the impression it was even harder to access.
