Foxy Lady: 1983 Ford Mustang 5.0 Convertible
The 3rd generation Fox-body Mustang needs little or no introduction to most American muscle fanatics living human beings, but perhaps a refresher is in order. Ford replaced the funky shaped Mustang II in 1979 with the Fox-body, and returned Mustang proportions to its previous long-hood/short rear end setup. The early Foxes had quad headlights, with a grill and front end that I think is slightly cooler than the later ’87+ look. Well, the Foxes have started to rise, so this creampuff, ragtop, 5-speed, with leather is pretty close to the top of the heap. $9K may look cheap in a few years.
Seems like there are a lot of cream puff drop top Foxes out there vs. anything with a hard top, which is usually a fright pig.
As a younger man, I was a huge fan of the 87+ look over the 4 eye. Now days I think the 4 eye has aged better.
Agreed. These do seem to have started to climb. Dig lights as well, but not so much the center grill.. although they did change it for the better (IMO) for 85-86. My first was an '86 GT and loved that car. Something about the stock 10-hole wheels brings back memories. Hard to beat that generations 5.0 exhaust note with a set of two-chamber Flowmaster mufflers.

Oh man, I wish I still had it. It has long been sold and that's an old pic. I had it for a while though and never had a problem with it. I actually got a 2-page spread done on the car in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords in the early 90's, after I had the ECU converted to Mass Air + did the full Ford Motorsport SVO engine kit on it, etc. I had entered into the Street Car Shoot Out at Houston Raceway Park and the Editor of the mag was there and shot the car. Of course, I bought multiple copies of the mag when it came out… then when I broke up with my ex-girlfriend she trashed them without my knowledge…. still pissed about that………….

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble. Not a creampuff. The red flag is "WITH ONLY 34K MILE"… with a five digit odometer, more likely TWO HUNDRED 34K mile! (or 348K miles). Never assume seller is telling the truth. I made the same mistake with a "creampuff" Crown Vic: after I bought it, found an oil sticker in the door, which showed the odometer had flipped over ten years earlier!
Well, I guess that COULD be the case, but if there's documentation to support the mileage…
On that note, here's a sweet one (going for about $5k over orginal MSRP).
