Flip Up Third Eye: 1982 Subaru GL Wagon

With regards to this next car, there are two facts that I know for certain — the first is that Alaska is a tough climate for automobiles — the snow, winter, and rough roads will disintegrate the undersides of most vehicles in short period of time, and the second is that 80s Subaru’s were not known for having the most robust anti-rust sheet metal. Which brings me to the question of the day; how did this Subaru survive the years with an Alaska plate and a manual gearbox? Find this 1982 Subaru GL Wagon offered for $4750 in Anchorage, AK via facebreak marketmark. Tip from Zach.

Not even one picture with the third eye lit up?
Always thought these were cool when I was in college in early 90’s. Went to test drive a few and couldn’t believe how slow they were, granted I was coming from an 84 Honda Civic S. Ended up buying an 83′ Toyota tercel wagon (4wd & sr5) that felt positively sporty compared to the GL wagon.
Most gutless car I’ve ever driven.
On point, that is why I test drove a few. I thought there was something wrong the motor in the first two. 🙂 Subie was ahead of their time instead of “Slow car, fast” they were “Slow car, slow” LOL
Can’t possibly be slower than my Pao, and I love driving my Pao. Almost worth buying just for the epic AK —> FL road trip and would make for a far better Youtube video than most of them.
Most videos aren’t the greatest though the guys who did then new / old Honda CT ride up to the Arctic Ocean wasn’t bad…
