Feeling Lucky? 1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit

How bad could it be? Really, I have to wonder if a decently skilled hobbyist with a set of tools and access to the internet could get this car running without taking a complete bath in the process. I guess the worst case is you could lose $4k. Or you could spend $6k trying to get it to start and then lose $10k. Okay. It could be really bad. Fun, but bad. Find this 1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit offered for $4000 in Statesboro, GA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Either the owner has an ironic sense of humor capturing a porta-potty in the background of their ad, but given the bereft wording maybe it is more some cosmic karmic foreshadowing of the new owner’s future?
“Does not start. Ran until 2018. Likely an electrical issue.”
Because we changed the filters, what else could it be? Anyway Bosch CIS fuel injection is electrical right? So it’s definitely electrical. No doubt about it.
Hey, why focus on getting this roadworthy?
Buy it, and sell the running gear. ALL of it. Part out as many other things as you can, while keeping the exterior appearance pristine. And the interior– that’s important.
Turn this into a backyard movie-watching space… you know, set up a projector, big screen, and you’ve now got drive in movie experience…in a ROLLS ROYCE.
Seriously, how cool is that?
Other stuff: You can invite friends over for a BBQ, but serve the apps in the Rolls. Just be sure they need a bit of Grey Poupon.
Kids would love to play “car” in it– just make sure it doesn’t get trashed.
Keep it pristine. Take care of it.
Guarantee you’ll have the most unique lawn ornament on the block. Maybe even in the whole city.
