The Triumph TR10 was sold as the Standard Insert-Model-Name-Here in every place that was not the US of A. As the word ‘Standard’ was associated more with uniform clothing and depression-era rations than with automobiles in Americans’ minds, it was probably a good idea to stick with the Triumph nomenclature. This particular car does have that much desired sun drenched surface rust look, however, it looks otherwise extremely solid. You lucky West Coast bastards.

In the sport of surfing, you have a tide calendar which tells you what time you need to be at the beach months in advance. This is lucky as the Triumph TR10 was levels of slow normally not found outside of agriculture in 1950’s America. Top speed was under 70mph and it would take nearly a minute to get there. Nobody expects an English people’s car to be quick, however, I do find it odd that the car directly conflicts the sporting image of the that Triumph was successfully cultivating in the US.

The interior of this TR10 is charming but haggard. After removing everything from the cabin and marching through with Purple Stuff and a pressure washer, the first order of business will be seeing what from the Morris Minor restoration aftermarket will fit in terms of rubber floors and door cards. Probably nothing, so you may end up getting good at making your own vinyl-covered bits.
