Economies of Scale: Shelby Fleet
When you or someone you care about has a disorder, the stage immediately following the intervention is admission of the problem. It would appear that our fellow vehicle hoarder here has come to terns with his problem; not having too many cars, just too many of the same car. Find this Fleet of Shelby Dodges here for sale in Seattle, WA for an assortment of reasonable prices via craigslist.
If you’re going to have a fleet, it may as well be turbo Dodges. Basically all of the parts are the same and it’s possibly the cheapest collection of worthwhile cars to accrue. We’ve all seen that trailer home in the country with eight Intrepids in the yard; the turbo Dodge fleet is an equally crippling disability but put to work in a more rewarding way.
We have to wonder about the motivation for complete liquidation. Perhaps it’s one of the 12 steps? Or could it be that he’s selling off the lot to start a collection of air-cooled Volkswagens? Arguably the most appealing car here is the Shelby Rampage, immediately followed by the immensely powerful Spirit R/T, both listed at very reasonable prices.
Another interesting find is the Thrifty Rental Cars-only variant, the CSX-T. Though it employed the less powerful Turbo 1 motor and didn’t have the swirly composite wheels of the CSX, the Thrifty version was still a hot car. Buying a used rental, especially a boosted, 5-speed CSX-T is sort of like getting involved in a committed relationship with a retired porn star. Be aware of what you’re getting into and accept the fact that you’re not the first to have done anything. Limiter-bashing in reverse, transitioning to a sidestep of the clutch in 3rd gear? The Thrifty repair records, if they hadn’t been intentionally shredded, burned, and re-shredded, would back that up.

Matt, a self-proclaimed bottom-feeder of the classic car market, spends half of his time buying cars, half of his time retrieving them, and the remaining third on keeping them on the road.
"relationship with a retired (certain kind of movie) star" put me to mind of the other end of the spectrum, which gets mentioned around here once in a while, along the lines of "not enjoyably driving your fancy car is like not doing (certain kinds of stuff) with your supermodel spouse so as to leave her/him pristine for her/his next spouse"
which i suppose means all other people and cars are somewhere in between on that analogy – curious to think about people you meet and what car they would correspond to if you lined those two scales up
anyhoo, pardon the parenthetical avoidances – my kid reads my comments
"I don't have a problem. I can stop at any time."
I can't believe I can finally afford a garage full of Shelbys!
At least he has reasonable prices, often the hoarding type fail to recognize the value of their things hasn't appreciated like they hoped.
Matt,
This is an awesome find. Sometime in the future, someone will look back at this and wonder why he didn't buy the entire lot and fill his barn. But he will probably then get back to slaving away in the salt mines for his robot overlords.

The rampage is sold already. Which is probably a good thing for me.
