Dual Overhead Cam Classic: 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
The C4 generation Corvette ZR1 was the result of a project between GM and Lotus Engineering, which resulted in a 375 horsepower DOHC V8 engine, big brakes, heavy duty suspension and active ride control. It was really ahead of its time for a GM product from the early 1990s but a hefty price tag (twice the cost of a standard Vette at $60k) and special assembly plant limited production to 6900 units over 6 years. Thankfully the magic of depreciation has dropped them into el cheapo territory and you can get one for the price of a 10 year old Camry. Seriously. Find this 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 offered for $12,000 near Cincinnati, OH via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

I have a 1990 Corvette ZR1 with 72k miles clean southern car no rust. This is the holy Grail of C4 Corvettes. The ZR1 was the very special performance Corvette from 1990 to 1995. The engine was designed by Lotus with 4 over head cams, 32 valves and 16 fuel injectors making a very underrated 385 HP. All ZR1s have the ZF 6 speed manual transmission backed with the all aluminum Dana 44 rear end.
The body was 4” wider than the base model Corvette to house the factory 11” rear wheels and 315/35/17 tires. Runs and drives very well. many new parts in the past month. New injectors, plugs, wires, upper gaskets, fuel pumps, fuel filter and tires. I also have all new cross drilled rotors and ceramic brake pads for the car still in the boxes. Very rare car ready to drive and enjoy.

These motors were awesome and bullet. I realize it's a 30 year old car, but this is pretty rough for only 72k miles…..
Shouldn't the ring across the body be black? Did they paint them on the ZR1's? Also the headlight is pretty easy to line back up correctly.
Good catch. It's black from the factory.
very good systems in this car. Touhidur
The ZR1 Mercury Marine hand built LT-5 in Stillwater Ok. Later model C-5 wheels not a Fan of this era plastic from the General.
