DT in San Diego for Coronado Speed Festival
We try and attend vintage racing events every chance we get and make the annual pilgrimage to the Monterey Historic races rain or shine – but every once in a while we get to go to a bonus vintage race – and this is a good one. The San Diego “Fleet Week” has been putting on its Speed Festival since 2001 and it brings a variety of old race cars onto a track made from a decommissioned military airstrip. Its not as glamorous as Monterey or as colossal as the LeMans Classic race (trust me, this editor has been and it was incredible) but we will bring a DSLR camera and snap a few photos of the cars on track when we aren’t searching for cheap roadkill in the parking lot – expect some Speed Festival posts and a photo album later this week.
Cool, fleet week looks like a good time. Say hello to my 145 while you're there – it's in the neighborhood.
