This Saturday morning, we’ll be firing up our DTM5 E34 project car and heading down to RadWood2, the show for ’80s and ’90s enthusiast machines at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim, CA. If Jalopnik’s coverage of the inaugural RadWood in the Bay Area is any indication, this show is gonna be…rad.
Feel like you just can’t wear enough hairspray on the weekend anymore? Looking for a chance to dust off that denim jacket and your best pair of jorts? Want to ogle a big variety of awesome and DT-worthy depreciated rides? Then this show might be a decent way to waste a Saturday.
DT is not affiliated with RadWood in any way, except for the fact that CFlo paid the $25 entry fee to show the M5, which has recently received a ton of cosmetic love with some strategic respray and detail work. It’s looking better than we’ve ever seen it in our 10 year history with the car. Here’s hoping that high strung S38 survives just another few days to bask in the glory of a car show where neon colorblock attire is not frowned upon, but required.
Also in attendance will be the former DTPC Volvo 242 project car, the old white hoopty we rescued from the hungry jaws of the crusher about 5 years ago, then sold on to our buddy Alex Buchka for a song. Now sporting bespoke 3-piece wheels, uprated drivetrain in the form of a 3.0L inline six Whiteblock engine and W58 Supra transmission, and all kinds of other good stuff, it’s worth checking out. Alex’s car is fresh off of a recent show win (how ironic is this) of the iPd Choice Award at the 2017 VCOA Volvo Show in Davis, CA.
If you see us hanging around these cars or some rusty old heaps, say hi, and we will apologize for enabling the wasting all of your free time hunting craigslist for good deals on AMG wagons and AMC Batmobiles.
The show is located at 1340 S Sanderson Ave, Anaheim, CA 92806 and is open to the public (for a $10 cover charge) from 11:00am to 5:00pm this Saturday, December 2nd 2017.

CFlo is getting back into Volvos in a big way. The DTM5 will be listed for sale here very soon.
