Don’t Be Rediculus: 1971 Chevrolet Camaro
The second generation Chevrolet Camaro was released for the 1970 model year with a new shape that was longer, lower, and wider than the outgoing shape. In the first few years of production the Camaro was faster than the previous model, but as years went by it became ensnared in the gas and emissions crises of the mid 70s and became painfully slow. Today’s example has a fully built 383 cubic inch V8 with zero miles on the build…but was caught up in a small brush fire. Find this 1971 Chevrolet Camaro offered for just don’t be rediculus with the lowballing. I’m not forced to sell it, so don’t think you can force a stupid low price located in Lake County, CA via craigslist. Tip from Kaibeezy.
In all seriousness this car probably isn’t salvageable, but you could probably pull a few parts from the carcass if you were so inclined. See another firesale classic? tips@dailyturismo.com
for the record…
"Gonna sell this camaro. Was in the valley fire. Tons of save-able parts. Used to rock a turbo 400 trans and fully built 383. Doubt the trans is salvageable. Motor might be, fire was towards the rear of the car. Would need to be pulled apart and new gaskets and such. Engine has 0 miles on it at the time of the fire, so we didn't even have oil in it yet. Hopefully that caused less damage. Had a bunch of parts in storage for the car that survived. Replaced the wheels already so that it's more towable. Anyways shoot me an offer, just don't be rediculus with the lowballing. I'm not forced to sell it, so don't think you can force a stupid low price."
That be the mother of all burnouts!
title status: clean
I can't believe this guy can't even be bothered to wash this thing prior to taking pictures. Like my momma always used to say, soap is cheap and elbow grease is free.
Fire Sale easy way to check for Bondo.
Started when parked.

fire it up!
Ummm…well…uhhh….nope, I got nothin'.
Saves a whole lotta time removing the paint and the glass….
Don't worry guys, there was no oil in the engine so it's probably fine.
I would want that finish on my Volvo. Inferno Chic.
If it was a porsche 356 it would still be worth $30k. I would not touch this if it was given to me. This kind of Annealed metal is nooooo good.
Gonna pretend I didn't look at that Camaro.
Hmmm…no undercarriage shots….I dunno…..
Because no undercarriage? I'm just guessin'….
Fire in the whole
Fire in the whole
Fire in the whole
bring a potholder
wait… bring a trivet
Bring a pizza paddle. Extra-large.
Some puzzlement here. Are those the wheels that were on it when it burned? 'Cause if so the tires survived in pretty good order, so the damage may not be as significant as it looks.
On the other hand, you might expect from the looks of the car that they were swapped on afterward to roll it away from whatever dry trees it was under.
