I was scoping out the new Toyota GR Corolla the other day and was FLABBERGASTED to discover that a simply equipped example will cost $40K before you start paying local taxes and dealer markup. What kind of car can you get for that much coin worth as much or more in 20 years? Surely, a used GR Corolla won’t be worth much more than $10K in 10 years, but what about a 997 generation Porsche 911? Will the Porsche go up or down in value even with some miles run? It also has options/features like: sunroof, BOSE speaker system (with updated Apple Car Play/ Android head unit), 19” Lobster Fork wheels, Projector headlamps, clear front bumper markers, suede headliner and console, and red seat belts have been added. Also, I just spent about $1600 on 2 brand new fob keys in June at the dealer here in Orlando, where they also went over it and gave a very clean bill of health. Drives, runs, rides out so smooth!! Nice looking car, seems to be in great shape – but the fabric on those seats? Yikes.
I know Porsche has had some wacky interiors – see the ’89 944 Turbo S Pendleton pink plaid (which I liked, but was pretty weird) – but this looks like an aftermarket job. It’s kinda puffy, no? Not something I would expect to see when glancing into a Carrera.
My guess is the owner was going for the 50th anniversary edition interior look and I agree that the rear seats look weird and puffy. Fronts look pretty good. Certainly looks a little homemade, which it would have to be because nobody is stripping the seats out of a 2014 911 to put in a 2007.
That Pendleton Pink edition is something. Kind of fun and very ’80s.
It’s the Pepita Houndstooth fabric option I think and Porsche will do anything you want for money in their special wishes program. Raccoon fur? No problem! but it might be an aftermarket simulation, like this

Isn’t the little motor that raises the spoiler supposed to retract it when the car is moving less than 35mph unless the engine is overheated?
