Corvette Some..errr: 1978 Datsun 280Z
By the 1978 model year the US spec Datsun Z had lost some of its original luster and it was looking bloated with big American bumpers and those heinous accordion mounting brackets. Even with a larger engine, the added safety and emission control bloat meant the car was slower and less fun to drive than the earlier models, but at least it wasn’t as ugly or down on power with a boat anchor 305 V8 like a late 70s Vette…uggg. Find this 1978 Datsun 280Z offered for $4,800 in Gig Harbor, WA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

1978 280Z with First Gen 305 bored out to 348. T56 six speed transmission out of a 97 Camaro. Very good interior. Sun roof. Modified body looks like a mini corvette. Original Corvette tail lights. You won’t find another front end like it. Kindof a cross between a vet and Camaro. Good stereo with subwoofer in truck. Make me an offer I can’t refuse. It needs some fiberglass work and someone’s time and devotion.

I say its all ready jacked up so go all the way and make it into a safari Dakar and then challenge Matt Farrah to a side by side off road race …
Must be fast with radio mast bent over or needs some Viagra !
I suppose making jokes about that radio antenna would be sort of a dick move.
It takes a lot of balls to make a comment like that!
I think a phallic joke would get lousy reception on here.
May not take a lot of balls, but you certainly have to be at least a little cocky.
You know, I always kind of felt guilty about liking the 250 GTO conversion kit for the Z-Cars, but after seeing this, it would have seemed like an act of kindness.
I'm sure this project looked fantastic on paper, when it was originally sketched in a high school economics class and clipped into a Trapper Keeper.
Those Bumperettes must be holding it down !
