Clown Shooting Brake: 2000 BMW M Coupe
Due to various economic factors that I can’t even start to go into right now (actually…I wonder what the price of late model collectible cars will do with the DOW bombing and Coronapolocypse upon us…ooooo…oooo…that Coronapocalypse is something I just made up and I call dibs on it. TM. Trademark. Patent Pending. Collective commons, must attribute. I need to back off on the coffee earlier in the day.) anyway….the Clown Shoe M Coupe has jumped up in price over the past few years and even the S52 (235 horse) powered versions (as opposed to the S54 (315 horse) powered) have seen a jump in price. Today we’ve got the slower M Coupe, but the seller isn’t clowning around with price and it is offered for a reasonable sum of money. Find this 2000 BMW M Coupe offered for $16,901 in San Rafael, CA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Those things kind of look like an AMC Gremlin updated for the '90s to me.
Not that an AMC Gremlin with that much horsepower would be a bad thing.
Best use of a FedEx envelope, ever…
some cars just never look right to me and this is one of them although I like the 3 and 5 series BMW wagons. This car looks like the perfect vehicle for paper delivery or Fedex. I just can't see paying that price for a 20 year old car that I can't like despite the nice mechanicals even with the "shooting brake" label.
The styling on these has always been polarizing. I happen to dig it — had a '99 in Estoril blue, wish I had it still. You're correct about the retro pricing. If this checks out – examine the diff ear for possible rear subframe separation – it's a good deal. A minor quibble: 240hp, not 235. It may be "slower", but it's not slow.
Came across a Z4M pretty decent comparison. I have to say I'm partial to the Z3. maybe not this particular one but the overall shape for sure.
