Civil War: 1970ish Fiberfab Avenger vs 1966 CAV Ford GT40 Replica

You can’t go wrong with either of these next two cars, but if you needed to chose, which would you get? Do you go with the 1970ish Fiberfab Avenger offered for $3500 in Orange County via Randy from Carchaeology on instagram? Or do you get the 1966 Ford GT40 replica ostensibly made by CAV and offered in “freshly rescued from the ocean” condition for $5,999 buy-it-now in Ft Lauderdale, FL via ebay. What would you drive? Tip from Cory.

Frist up is the Fiberfab Avenger, of which I’m a huge fan. These things eschew the totally derivative styling of typically lame kit cars (250GT replicas, Cobros, Fierarris, etc) and hint at exotic supercar fiberness with some Corvair guts hiding on the inside. Go Firberfab or go home on foot, as they say. The seller describes the car as:

Ran when parked. Located in Orange County CA $3500 takes it . PM for details!

Is that the remains of a shag carpet, or a pile of worms? Not sure I want to find out.

On to the “GT40”. This thing has some sweet clamshell action that’ll be the hit of every car show you take it to, but is that why you own such a car? To attract hoards to gawkers, looker-onrs, rubberneckers, etc? Is that what you want?

From the seller:
CLEAN TITLE! FORD GT40 MK3 REPLICA. This is a project for someone with a vision and ability to make one incredible replica of the multimillion dollar car. This is a great platform to finish off. The body is to spec length, width, and height to the original GT40. I don’t know the origin of the bodymold however it seems closest to the CAV GT40 early versions. It has VW title & vin tag. The body is set on a stretched 1974 VW chassis and type 3 w/ flat 4 cyl drivetrain that is inop. The wheels are original BORRANI RIMS (check eBay on values $$$$) that are in good condition. 3 of the center spin caps have some rust but the rims themselves are in very good condition and not rusted. Same rims used in vintage FERRARI in the 60s and 70s. This is a very desirable body that needs finishing and fiberglass work however, is all there and ready to be finished to make one outstanding replica. Included with the sale are a few boxes of older parts, odds and ends, and two authentic looking Italian style black leather seats. Does have a dash/instrument, driver’s side window. Please take a look at all the photos in detail, if you need something else just ask before bidding. No windshield glass or back glass. I’m a real seller so please be a real buyer. Located in FORT LAUDERDALE FL 33312.
