Cheap And Loud: 2005 Audi S4
To call this next car a ticking time bomb would severely underestimate the risk of owning/driving an S4 with 140k miles (and straight pipe exhaust) that you paid less than $4k to own. Owning this car could be better described as trying to take a sip from a lit Molotov cocktail or wearing a pet scorpion as a wristwatch. There is a lesson here: Live life to its fullest, I guess. Find this 2005 Audi S4 offered for $3900 in Clifton, NJ via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

A friend of mine had one of these for a few years. He got nervous that it was just going to blow up like many of these do. So he sold it to a friend and bought an Infinity. The Infinity fell apart and cost thousands to keep on the road. The S4 is still going strong.
I got spooked by our Audi’s electrical issues and got rid of it a couple of months into the pandemic. Nice car but it really did feel like a ticking time… um… brick.
Sure, there will always be that little itch bothering you in the back of your head, but a slick ride for a cash car price….. until I read that the seller said it smokes a little bit. Sounds like the rings or injectors could be going, but if he really wants it out of his driveway like he says, I bet it could be had for $3 to $3500….

Dang, sometimes your descriptions are so on point, they can’t be ignored.
If given a choice between having to drive a 15 year old S4 with a smoking engine every day or wearing a scorpion as a wristwatch, I’m not entirely sure which one I’d pick. You might have to raise the stakes to a copperhead or wheel bug to get me to pick the Audi.
No inspection sticker either. Probably a dealer
