Centurion: 1922 Ford Model T Truck

Imagine it is the year 2122 and the planet is still inhabitable…and inhabited by something smarter than roaches. Some of those people might be your kids/grandkids and I’m having a hard time seeing them driving a 2022 Ford F150 Lightning with original powertrain. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it would be to get the computers to function, given that it is almost impossible to maintain a functional computer from 30 years ago, but I don’t see any new car being drivable 100 years from now…but this Model T truck will still work. Find this 1922 Ford Model T Truck offered for $8000 in Austin, TX via craigslist.

The incredibly simple computer in my 34 year old Volvo still works just fine. But judging by how unreliable my 1 year old Ford with under 10,000 miles on it has been… I’m with you ref: most if not all modern cars being lawn art in 100 yrs.
It looks like it has the advance-retard and the throttle on the wheel and the shift, reverse, and brake pedals, but what’s that big lever where a modern-ish car would put the shifter?
I have enough of a problem with slamming the brakes with my left foot when driving an automatic and coming to a stop when I’m distracted by, for example, a cop car behind me. Having the middle pedal instantly shift to reverse seems a little problematic.
Hmm, seems to be sold already.
Looks like a regular T trans to me? You hold the left pedal to the floor, that is low. Releasing the hand break all the way and let off low gear engages into high. Good for 35mph. Middle peddle is reverse, and right peddle is the brake.
Got all that. I was wondering what that big lever coming out of the middle of the floor was for.
If a Tesla Cyber Truck had these exact same control requirement to drive, I might get excited about an electric car.
I think the lever in the middle is for the dump of the dump truck
