You’ve seen shoe cars before — but not like this. This Volkswagen Jetta Converse Car looks like someone lost a bet with both Nike and physics. It’s a 5-speed Jetta that’s been swallowed whole by a size-747 high-top sneaker, complete with laces, logos, and the aerodynamic grace of a gym bag. It’s perfect if you’ve […]
GM spent millions engineering the Fiero’s four-cylinder commuter-car image, and here comes some madman with a Cadillac 4.9L V8 and a 5-speed to undo it all in the best way possible. Sure, it’s got cornflakes in the coolant, a wobbly alignment, and cosmetics that look fine from five feet away, but it also pulls like […]
For sale is possibly the fastest way to get kicked off your local golf course: a 2004 Club Car stuffed with a Suzuki GSXR 1000 engine. Nicknamed the “Death Trap,” this Frankenstein build trades in golf balls for 140+ mph sprints, a custom clutch pedal, and six screaming gears that’ll hit 12,000 rpm before you […]
Ah yes, the Not-So-Smart Trike—the vehicular equivalent of putting pants on backwards and then insisting they were designed that way. What we have here is a Smart car that someone Frankensteined into a three-wheeled convertiblish creature…because apparently the world didn’t have enough ways to confuse pedestrians. It’s still got all the creature comforts of a […]
This next feature is the minibike equivalent of a nuclear-powered skateboard. What you’re looking at here is a lime-green Sachs Wankel Rotary Minibike, propelled by the mighty Sachs KM48 rotary engine — because apparently someone thought a tiny motorcycle with a lawn-chair-sized wheelbase needed jet-age German engineering and a redline somewhere in the stratosphere. This […]
Today’s feature isn’t something you’ll find bolted to the 5-speed in your neighbor’s Miata, but it will make your average LS-swap look like a leaf blower. Meet the Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major — a mechanical leviathan forged in the postwar crucible of big ideas and bigger cowls. This isn’t just an engine. It […]
This next car isn’t the typical DT feature car, and it blows our regular budget out of the window and into the park across the galaxy…but…a custom Airstream built by NASA to transport astronauts in and around Edwards Air Force Base. One of a kind doesn’t start to describe this custom camper. Find this 1989 […]
This next car comes as a tip from Dave in Tampa who writes: There’s literally zero DailyTurismo readers who won’t stop for a few moments and ponder whether this might actually be a justifiable acquisition. Indeed, I instinctively reached for my wallet when I saw the listing. Find this 1985 Mazda Lola Go-Kart offered for […]
This next car is offered for sale with shockingly scant details. “One of a kind. not running”. That’s all we get? But we know what’s up with this car because the Wedge is a repeat offender — it was last featured in November 2020 and it looks mostly the same aside from an inflated price. […]
The Project 818 was a kit that you could order from Factory Five Racing that was not yet another Shelby Cobra clone and instead was closer to an original design from Factory Five. The 818 looks something like a Lotus Elise, and with only 818 kg (1800 lbs) of curb weight (and a 2.5 liter […]
