Brown Market Import: 1985 Chevrolet Opala Dimplomata

What in the world is a Chevy Opala? No, not an Impala, an Opala. It is a Brazilian built sedan that use the German Opel Rekord/Commodore platform and today’s version is the luxury equipped Dimplomata. It is also covered in an amazing shade of brown and has more style than a well worn leather jacket. Of all the cars to import from Brazil, this was not even on my list. Seems kinda expensive too…then I looked at webmotors and the price didn’t seem so off with import costs. I’d prefer the sportier looking old 2 door Opala or many other cars, but this was a bit of a surprise.
What kind of dystopian alternate timeline TV science fiction show did I wake up in where my Chevy sedan looks vaguely like a Bristol 412 (https://motoimg.com/photo/bristol-412-convertible-1975-15.html)
How’s e85 availability these days, I wonder.
