Born at the Beach: 1969 Bradley GT

Most of the kit cars built by in the 1970s had a certain boat-like construction/shape and the Bradley GT was no exception. The GT was the result of collaboration between David Bradley Fuller (who owned a small fiberglass shop) and Gary Courneya of Gary’s Bug Shop in SoCal which sold parts for the dune buggy market. The GT used an original type 1 Beetle chassis, but the seller of this one mentions a Ghia as donor for the engine. Find this 1969 Bradley GT offered for $10,500 in Malibu, CA via craigslist.

This is a true time capsule. Unmolested subterranean garage survivor. A rare find as not too many were sold. And not too many left.

This BradleyGT was stored since 1989. 30 years in a garage. It has a big bore 1835cc engine on a Karmann Ghia chassis , front disc brakes with twin 40 Webers, Norris 330 cam, oil cooler, front disc brakes, VDO gauges, 4 speed manual transmission. Set up with A/C but compressor is missing. Has full wing window/doors.
The BradleyGT was brought back to running condition which included-
All new hydraulics , brake master cylinder, new reservoir and hose, new wheel cylinders, rebuilt front disc brake calipers.
Replace all fuel lines and filter.
2 new K&N air filters and covers.
2 40 Webers were cleaned out
Replace battery and starter motor.
Replace ignition switch and keys.
4 new tires
Plugs and plug wires.
Oil and filter change.
The BradleyGT comes with receipts of engine rebuild etc. there is a assembly manual also plus other BradleyGT literature.
It has some blemishes which is normal for the age of the car but still looks great overall.

NEEDED——
Gas gauge is not working but it comes with brand new sender unit in box.
Speedo cable will need adapter to work 100%. Clock n/w,
a/c compressor missing .
Slight synchro 2nd.
Other than that it’s fun to drive.

Gull wing window doors are removable for driving if desired.
The BradleyGT is registered and tagged till June 2023. No smog ever needed
