Bob Bondurant’s Classroom: 1993 Ford Taurus SHO

I had the opportunity to meet and shake Bob Bondurant’s hand at a Shelby Tribute car show a few years back, but I didn’t get a chance to get any tips on driving from him. But, Bondurant did teach Clint Eastwood, James Garner, Paul Newman, Tim Allen, Nick Cage, and Tom Cruise (among others) how to drive fast around a track in his world famous Bob Bondurant Racing School. Today the school uses Dodge Hell-things to teach people how to control uncontrollable Stellantis (hahahah, Stellantis!!) built muscle machines, but back in the 1990s, Bob used a Ford Taurus SHO to teach Hollywood elite how to properly heel-toe and control understeer, and this is supposedly his personal instructor’s car. Find this 1993 Ford Taurus SHO offered for $7500 in Fairfield, OH via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Reminds me of that movie with Robert De Niro where he’s driving a taxi. Can’t remember the name. Cabby?
Uber Driver
“Are you looking for me? Or the Lyft guy?”
How many of those 43,546 miles were racked up while sliding sideways? If this car comes with receipts, there will be about 10 for routine oil changes and 100 for new sets of tires. I want this for my daily driver… real bad.
A LOT! Did a Bondurant weekend back in ’99ish? and we used these and Mustangs. I actually liked the power curve and sense of agility in the SHO far more than the mustang, which was no where near as revv’y and just had a bloated feel – not at all what I expected and knew well the lore on the SHO at the time. Not sure how they tuned the suspension, etc, but the class cars were surprisingly balanced. Always promised myself I would get one… never did. Wonder how the wife would feel if I brought this home to “relive the moment”
