Big Cat Ranchero: 1977 Mercury Bobcat

For those who aren’t 70’s crap-can savants, the Mercury Bobcat (yes, this is a Bobcat, not a Cougar) was a rebadged version of the Ford Pinto and sold from 1975 to 1980. The Pinto/Bobcat was designed as a domestic competitor to cheap imports (Corolla, B210, Beetle), and was known to fall apart faster than an ice cube Jenga tower and was available in sedan, wagon, hatchback, and sedan delivery versions. It was not available as a pickup truck…which would have been the easiest way to carry the needed spare parts to get to your destination. However, today’s example has been El Caminoized and although it is missing its engine…yeah…there is no coming back from that, I got nothing.
