I’ve been watching S2000 prices for a few years, and I’ve seen an interesting trend in the 200K-mile-plus examples with bad paint…and that trend is definitely in the downward direction. This is odd because the S2000 is probably one of the top ten best cars from the early aughts (noughties or 00s) and should be on your affordable car bucket list. With a screaming monster of a 4-banger FC20 and one of the best topless chassis to ever leave a mass market factory floor, it is no surprise that Honda developed the 2K with an engineering skunkworks team and left the marketing bozos out of it. If you want a car that delivers overall driving feel and sound above outright speed, this is it…and I don’t expect that they will be affordable forever.
