This 1987 CRX Si is in nearly perfect, original condition,
two owner and with just 101,887 miles. I purchased the car almost a year ago,
recognizing what a wonderful classic it is. Since purchase, the catalytic
converter and O2 sensor were changed, with CA smog easily passed. Recently, the
right CV joint began making noise so both axles were replaced. The car runs
flawlessly, does not overheat, A/C works very well as does everything else,
including the rear wiper and squirter nozzle. The sunroof opens and closes like
new, clutch and transmission operate very smooth.
When buying from the original owner, I was told the car had
suffered minor weather damage on the hood and top shortly after she purchased
it new. Both areas were repaired and no other damage or paint work has been
performed. The plastic nose has three cracks. The car was washed for the
pictures and has not been detailed. The shine on the paint is like-new. This is
original paint!
The doors close gently and perfectly. There are no rattles
when driving. The only interior “flaws” are a rip in the upper corner of the
driver seat, a wind whistle above 45 mph on the driver’s side and the “CRX”
logo of the original floor mat is worn away-the passenger side is near-perfect.
All environmental controls operate smoothly, fans and air ducts flow freely,
heater warms the car quickly.
Trying to find a more original, lower mileage first-gen Si
in equal, or better condition may be near impossible.
