1972 Mercedes Benz 280 SEL 4.5
This car was delivered to its original owner on January 4th 1972. It was assembled at the Sindelfingen plant. It is paint code DB906 Grey Blue Metallic with MB tex code 135. It came with power locks, Becker Europa stereo, AC, Power windows, white wall tires, backlit heater, electric sunroof, paint protection, heat absorbing glass, and California test all according the factory build sheet.
It is a lucky day when you come across a vintage classic of this caliber. This car has spent it life in the perfect climate of southern California. It has always been a well cared for MBZ and it shows. This car is in excellent running condition and drive smooth and straight down the road. It comes with a large stack of receipts and paperwork from its prior owner. You will get over 130 invoices from the meticulous servicing this MBZ got during its life. Mostly by just one owner from what I can tell. The paint on the car is mostly all original. The only real flaw on the car is the roof paint has got very thin, but I did not want to paint on this original car. The interior is complete and all original down to the Becker Europa Radio. The wood looks really good as well. It does have a small crack in the dash that could be repaired. The car has a functioning sunroof. All the power equipment works as well with the AC. It has its original wheels and painted to match stainless hubcaps. The prior owner loved this car so much that it wears custom California MB MBZ license plates. This is excellent car for any MBZ collector. The 4.5 market is on the rise with the classic styling of these special Mercedes. This car has no rust or previous damage to the car. Perfect car to make concours or keep it as a survivor.

Good Luck
Handsome beast. Nice combo of classic look and pleasing performance. Didn't sell at $11.1K Not so long ago, that was all the money for one of these.

My favorite MB! I'll take the 280SE with stick. V8's are complex.
Check out the volume of rust free (relatively) Fintails and this era of beautiful sedans in Cali and PNW CL ads. Plentiful and less expensive than almost any other European car of the era.
Pontons caught a decade or so ago, but even a very nice one is affordable.
All of these cars still cruise beautifully and are literally mesmerizing with the MB star leading your view.
Yes indeed. A real Benz!
