Affordable & Interesting: 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R
Twenty-five hundred bones doesn’t get you much in a used car these days, particularly if you want something with an automatic transmission that offers more than the experience you get from a 15 year old Toyota Camry. However, if you play your cards right, you might end up in something interesting & fast. Find this 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R offered for $2400 in Phoenix, AZ via craigslist.
Volvo built their 850 T-5R in collaboration with Porsche, taking the B5234 inline-5 and boosting it up to 243 horsepower and 250 ft-lbs of torque. The only transmission available in North America was a 4-speed auto (5-speed manual was available in Europe), but with a bunch of low end torque, sticky stock tires, and a surprisingly light weight chassis, the 4-door Volvo sedan is a modern sleeper you can drive every day.

Post deleted by author means he probably sold it. Good buy for whoever got it IMHO.

Some lucky Brick head out there snapped it up!
