I’ve never been a big fan of these Mustang II based Gazelle styled “neoclassical” kit cars, but a deal is a deal…right? This one seems to be in decent shape for the asking price, but it does have a few tears in the seat and some electrical gremlins. Am I getting soft in my old age? Should I denounce this thing for being an abomination? Or could this make a fun weekend car to cruise around and not worry about door dings in the local Cracker Barrel parking lot? Car runs, no problem; signal lights, windshield wipe and radio don’t work – need to work on some electrical things !
I am oddly attracted to the SSKs. Oddly, because they don’t really look like the actual MB SSK. They look odd.
But I like odd. And I like the way these kit cars look.
Needs wide white walls.
And do I spy a *second* SSK in some of these shots? Parts car, anyone?
2 for 1… Oooooh….twice the heartaches/headaches!
Seriously, though. Have you ever driven one of these? I have.
Remember those old Disney/Loony Toons shorts where they’re driving an old car, it hits a bump, and the entire car flies apart into hundreds of pieces, but all comes back together just before it hits the ground?
That’s what driving one of these felt like. To me.
