For the 1978 model year the Oldsmobile Cutlass was downsized to GM’s new A-body platform shared with the Buick Century, Chevy Malibu, Monte Carlo & El Camino, Pontiac Grand Am, Grand Prix, and LeMans. You couldn’t throw a bent tie rod without hitting an A-body on the road back in 1979, but these things are all but rotted back into the earth. I guess GM was ahead of the curve on recycling. Anyway, today’s A-body is one of the rarest and most unlikely styles — the 2-door Cutlass Aeroback Salon…which sounds way more fancy than it actually is…and oof, the asking price as optimistic.
