996 With 100k Miles: 1999 Porsche Carrera 4

I secretly want this next car. Well, not secretly, because I just shared it with you guys, but I do want to replace the late model German sports machine in my driveway with another late model German machine, but will be downgrading from 5 seats to 4. Will everyone assume I’m going through a mid-life crisis…sure, but who cares? I’ll be driving one of the worlds premier sports car and it cost less than a well optioned Nissan Versa. Find this 1999 Porsche Carrera 4 offered for $18,500 in Concord, CA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

This is the bottom of the 911 depreciation curve right now, correct? Older ones going up, newer ones still up. Plus the “scary” IMS issue, yes, known and resolved in any of these still being driven and cared for.
With carmakers announcing last-gen ICE development, we have to face the fact that there will never be better cars than the ones we can choose right now. I, and many who hide out here, believe the peak of engineering and construction was with these models designed in the 80s and 90s.
I say find a way to buy it. We will look back on this time and all wish we had.
And I’ll just leave this here…

Forget the Versa the Nissan Kicks is the go to car now…!
Been on and off 996 market for about a year now. Biggest obstacle is a 2006 Saleen parked in my garage. I cannot think of any one single reason why I should get rid of the Saleen to make room for a Porsche in my garage. This stupid personal dilemma is something that will eat at me in the future, regardless which choice I’ll make.
996 Turbo is by far the best bargain on the market but if you can’t stretch then a C4 with its wide body is the next best option.
