This next car comes with some questions. I can guess at a few, but not all. First, it isn’t a Falcon that’s been Ranchero’d, but it is a factory Falcon Ranchero which was something Ford sold from 1960 through 1965. However, the sellers says that the engine, transmission, and suspension from a 98 Ford Explorer has been grafted to the underside of this classic. Might it have all-wheel-drive? Not sure. Will it roll-over and present belly at the first sight of a Firestone tire? Probably. Would I drive it anyway? Absolutely. Find this 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero offered for $8,500 in San Jose, CA via craigslist.
From the seller:
1965 ford falcon ranchero
title status: clean
I have a sweet 65′ Ford Falcon Ranchero pickup that has the suspension/engine/trans of a 98 Ford Explorer on the inside. Work was done in San Diego by a former racer who enjoyed building Hot Rods. I recently purchased as a project but have had some other financial situations come up so I need to get rid of her. Body is in good shape, has cool bench seat, new tires, new battery. Fully registered until March of 2023 (and its a 65 so you never need to smog). I want to be fully transparent that this is a project car (but does run and drive fine as is). It is super fun to cruise around town in and can go on the freeway with no issues. $8,500 OBO
Come take a test drive!
Gas gauge does not work
Rear right blinker is not working
Air Intake could be secured better
Drivers side door card needs to be reattached better
Window gaskets are old
One headlight just burnt out
(Might be willing to trade for something small like a Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Miata, or similar)
