740 HP Turbo LSV8 Sleeper: 1991 Volvo V8 240DL Wagon

I know. Another V8 powered Volvo…how cliché. But this one is special. It has a ginormous turbocharger with an intake sized like something from an apache helicopter that pushes cubic yards of air into the 5.3 liter iron block (probably an LM7 if I was to guess) with MegaSquirt standalone fuel injection to make a tire obliterating 745 horsepower on the dyno. Thankfully this thing is shifted with an Aisin AR-5 manual gearbox that probably came from a Chevy Colorado or Pontiac Solstice and isn’t exactly rated for this level of murderous torque…but people tend to overestimate the required ruggedness of their transmissions and if you shift it nicely it will probably survive the repeated 60-100mph sprints that this thing is built for. Turbo LS. Just testing the waters, open to trades but prefer cash, asking $11,000. have a move coming up that would mean storing it for a while. This wagon started out as a very clean car, two extremely small rust spots on the entire car. The LS 5.3 iron block engine is fully built, machine work done by Ehnes Rink, clevite 77h bearings, rod cam and main. Rods are forged scat I beams 6.125, weisco comp HT flat top pistons from Brian tooley racing with stainless rings, designed for boost. Head studs and ls9 head gaskets. BTR dual springs valve with BTR stage 1 turbo cam and their trunion kit. Fully balanced from flywheel to balancer. Turbo is a VS racing billet 72/65 .94. Hooker turbo manifolds. Walbro 450 with aeromotive regulator and decs 80 injectors. It’s running microsquirt stand-alone.

Has a flex fuel sensor but haven’t had it tuned for e85 so it’s on pump gas. Mishimoto 4” core intercooler, large corvette radiator with motion race works steam port kit. Ton of other stuff. Trans is an AR-5 with a core/hurst shifter, spec stage 3 clutch and. Rear end is a Ford 8.8 just rebuilt with a 3.08. Has a full exhaust with a cutout, very streetable, drives great. Completely rebuilt/upgrades bilstein suspension. Has drag radials. Never been down a track, less then 1000 miles on the setup and 300 on engine. For the bad, has a small oil leak, weather has been crap so I haven’t looked. And the gas gauge isn’t working, ram came off the sending unit.
