7.3 PowerStroke Diesel: 2001 Ford Excursion XLT

This next car comes as a tip from FuelTruck who writes: The seller doesn’t include much info on his engine, but these 7.3 liter Powerstrokes are legendary for their reliability. Typically this truck would be selling for another 10k (at least) on a dealer’s lot. Buy and drive, or flip for a healthy profit. Find this 2001 Ford Excursion XLT offered for $8,500 in Concord, CA via craigslist.

Great vehicle. Don’t really want to sell as they will never make a vehicle like this again but I just don’t need it right now. Clean, well cared for… it’s a 20 year old vehicle so it’s not perfect. New Radiator, fan clutch, coolant reservoir Fresh oil change… always has full synthetic. Could use brake job as it has a warped rotor.I would entertain trades, preferably a newer Beetle or Wrangler possibly a small fishing boat.

Cheap seats (most were leather), so entry level vehicle w/minimal creature comforts.
But a great engine. If maintained well, should last 400-500K miles.

Last two of these sold on BaT were in the high $50,000s !!!
Rick, was that a typo? Did you mean $15,000?
There are at least 25 Diesel 4WD Excursions for sale in the US right now under $15K. Some have over 400,000 miles on them (they’re typically less than $10K).
Quite a few have less miles than the one above, but none are that cheap.
I love the idea of flipping it, but trust me: If you buy one, you won’t sell it. 🙂

I might buy this and sell my truck.
