#611 of 750: 1987 Shelby CSX
This next car comes from a tip from Eric who is a friend of the seller and asks the question: Is this worthy of posting on Daily Turismo? I dunno…but I’ll give it a shot and you guys can decide. It does have significant street cred among wacky car lovers, a bargain price tag, and isn’t something your teenage kids will want to be dropped off at school in…so far so good. Find this 1987 Shelby CSX offered for $2,700 in Oklahoma City, OK via craigslist. Tip from Eric.
The CSX was a Carroll Shelby hot rodded version of the Dodge Shadow — and back in 1987 you got a higher power engine, stiffer suspension, Shelby specific interior trim, and Shelby composite fiberglass wheels. Only 750 examples of the CSX were built and this is a one onwer example..but it a bit of work.
Personally, I really appreciate that the seller is very upfront about the mechanical issues with the car (headgasket, 5th gear issues, HVAC nfg), many sellers simply leave ambiguous statements about needing work or bringing your towing device.

I agree, that is probably the most honest car ad I have seen in a long time. Kudos for that.
I never had a chance to drive a Shelby Shadow, but I wonder if the Shelby Halo will extend to these some time soon. Maybe someone should register one at Barrett Jackson just to see what the market will bear. I have seen some head-shakers on BJ this week, so who knows?
A search at Barrett-Jackson brings up a few of the limited production Shelby Dodges, but not this specific model.
Sounds like it's been punched around a bit, but healed up properly. If you want rare, this is it. But desirable, not so much. At least not yet.
Plenty of room in the trunk for your arsenal and survival gear.
