5k: Survivor: 1962 Rambler Classic Wagon

In 1961 American Motors Corp replaced the Rambler Six and Rambler Rebel names with a single model that was inexplicably called the Rambler Classic.  The Classic was an intermediate sized product from the George Romney era at AMC and sold well enough to rank third in US vehicle sales behind Chevrolet and Ford.  Find this 1962 Rambler Classic Wagon currently bidding for $3,053 here on eBay with a few hours to go, located in Anaheim, CA.

This Classic comes from a reseller who specializes in donated vehicles, so someone decided this car was worth more as a tax write off than in cash, but that doesn’t mean all is lost.  With any luck this car could be washed and flipped a few times via ebay and other places where thirsty buyers pay a premium for vintage crap.

Under the hood is a 3.2 liter (196 cubic inch) inline-6 that is fed via a sewer pipe cold air intake (stay classy Anaheim!).  The Rambler was available with an optional alloy inline-6 as well, but this looks like the iron version and both were rated at 127 horsepower from the factory.

The interior doesn’t look too trashed, but it would be important to get a picture of the headliner, because you won’t find those sitting around on the shelves of your local O’Reilzone Boys auto parts superstore.

See a cooler longroof AMC? tips@dailyturismo.com
