5k: Sissy 4X4: 1989 Fiat Panda 4X4 Sisley Edition

The first generation Fiat Panda is a Giorgetto Giugiaro designed city car (subcompact, supermini…it all depends on where you live and what version of English you subscribe to) that was Fiat’s take on the VW Type 1 from 1980 to 2003.  It was the people’s Fiat – designed to be cheap and affordable, the car for every garage…but what would you buy if you were a canoeing enthusiast?  Find this 1989 Fiat Panda 4X4 Sisley currently bidding $1,025 reserve-not-met with 1 day to go, located in Frome, UK.

The Panda was produced in copious quantities, spit from Italian factories for European consumption like boxes of dry spaghetti.  Between 1980 and 2003 over 4.5 million of the little solid rear axle equipped econoboxes were sold for next to nothing at Fiat dealers.

The Sisley package was a 4X4 equipped Panda that had a few unique features and most importantly canoe emblems on the seats.  Unfortunately, the canoe is a good indication of speed capable with the 48 horsepower 1.0 liter inline-4.
