5k: Luxury Mudder: 1966 Lincoln Continental Truck
Where do you even begin with a car like this? The standard car blog lead-in procedure documented in ISO 9001 protocol B117 is to start with a blurb about the history of the make, marque, or model. But…do I talk about Ford, Lincoln, F-250, or Continental? All I know is that when the Kennedy grandkids get married to the Duck Dynasty nephew-kids (they met on Kentuk-e-harmony.com where the quality of your date is all relative) this is what they will drive home from the wedding. Find this 1966 Lincoln Continental Truck
currently bidding on ebay for $2,000 reserve-not-met with 5 days to go, located in Lynnfield, MA. Tip from Ignacio.
You can’t fault the vision of someone who wanted to put the iconic suicide door Lincoln on top of a 4X4 long wheelbase pickup chassis. It is like the combination of pork chops and applesauce, which at first glance appears to be some kind of bad joke, but the salty richness of medium-rare pork is offset by the delicate undertones of ripe honeycrisp apples mashed to oblivion. I guess you can have your pork and eat it too?
The 460 cubic inch V8 engine and automatic transmission come with the F250 chassis, but out back the Continentruck as a sweet trick. The rear trunk area is a disguised dump bed, great for…err…dumping stuff..
The interior has retained much of the Lincoln look, dashboard, door cards, but things like seats seem to have been donated from something else (the F250 maybe?).

first time I have been motivated to comment after several months of reading this site daily…….
great pick, this thing is so wrong on so many levels that it actually seems right, somehow. Good thing it is very far away from me or I might actually be on my way with cash in my pocket to test drive……. My wife would shoot me if I came home with it, but for going huntin or fishin it would be a great rig!
the hand-cut, pop-riveted checkerplate – sweet
welcome, paul!
No doubt the spiritual ancestor of the Lincoln Blackwood. The biggest differences being that the featured car is more marketable and more functional. 🙂
"Kentuk-e-harmony.com where the quality of your date is all relative"…This is likely to be the funniest thing I read or hear all day. I may as well go back to bed.
"salty richness of medium-rare pork"….you guys are killin me and my relatives…..my sister ….I mean my wife
Gotta imagine the Kennedy kids might have a bit of an aversion to 1960's Conti's.
But, if Ted had been driving this one it's pretty likely Mary Jo Kopechne would still be with us.
Toss up.
I love this!great for going to the Glory hole Racin………………
