5k: Chuck Wagon: 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon
Drive a used Chevrolet Caprice from the 1980s and you won’t get noticed like it is a new Tesla Model S, but you will save quite a few smackeroos on the purchase price and your house is much less likely to be the target of burglars. Find this 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon bidding here on eBay
for $5,000 with 2 days to go, located in Cleveland, OH.
The third generation Chevrolet Caprice Classic was introduced in 1977 as
a lighter and leaner version of the previous full sized Chevy sedan.
The reduction in weight was in response to fuel economy concerns but it
brought with it a better vehicle in the dynamic sense.
Power in this Caprice comes from the 305 cubic inch V8 rated at 150 horsepower and 240 ft-lbs of torque. It is an underpowered and unappreciated version of Chevy’s legendary small block V8, but will run for miles with basic maintenance and return decent fuel economy.

The age old debate….boxes vs bubbles.
Interesting to think that this thing sat new on the dealer lot next to a C4 Corvette.
If this were September I would be on the highway to Ohio, checking my bid along the way to be sure it remained the highest….
Bench seat, crank windows…stripper. Was that uncarpeted rear load floor stock?
Had one of these – a couple years earlier – in the family. It drove reasonably well for the time, of course by present standards it was a slug. But, man, was it built like ass. Paint flaking off, carpet pilling and shredding by 30K miles.
If this thing's really in this condition it's kind of a miracle.
My family had the first year of this body style, 1977. It had the optional 350 small block, good for 170 bhp. Ours also had crank windows because my parents didn't think us kids would handle electric windows responsibly (correct). It served the family well until the engine unceremoniously blew up outside of Kingman, AZ, on Christmas day, 1989, with only 95K on the clock. Dad sold it to the tow truck guy for a few hundred bucks and we bought a new car in Las Vegas, a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix two door. That was mom's last American car, she went import in the late 90s and hasn't looked back. I'll show her this one but I don't think she'll bid.
