5k: BBQ Season: 1965 Volvo Amazon SBC V8

Welcome to Memorial Day at the Daily Turismo, time to fire up the BBQ and get things cooking. The original plan for Memorial Day was to post nothing but Renault Fuegos (and other flammable French cars) for sale, but some kill joy mentioned something about this isn’t a memorial of the start of BBQ season and we are supposed to honor the fallen heroes from our military — more on that later, but first, a flaming death trap.  Find this 1965 Volvo Amazon SBC V8 offered for $4,800 in Orlando, FL via craigslist.  Tip from JPB. 

This car started life as a 4-door Volvo Amazon 122S sedan equipped with a simple B18 4-banger but now it is ready for Ferrari slaying duties.  The hood-less flat-black look won’t be ultra popular with snooty stock Volvo club, but it will be a hit with your local fuzz.

Between the front fenders is a Chevrolet 5.7 liter (350 cubic inch) V8 with a gigantic ram air scoop on top.  The seller doesn’t describe much of the details of the build, but anything less than 350 horsepower would be a disappointment.  Unfortunately, it is mated to an automatic transmission which will be great for drag racing, but less fun on the street or at your local road course.
