4G63 Swap: 1991 Dodge Stealth RT AWD

Dodge and Mitsubishi collaborations go back a long way, but the late 80s, early 90s were wild. The twin turbo V6 powered Dodge Stealth and Mitsubishi 3000 GT were the big brothers to the smaller 4-cylinder turbo Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser. But today we’ve got a strange combo. Somebody took the smaller 4-cylinder 4G63 and took the time/effort needed to adapt it into a Dodge Stealth. I’m so confused. But I like it. Find this 1991 Dodge Stealth RT AWD offered for $8000 in Oswego, NY via facestealth RT. Tip from Cory.

The engine swap may seem confusing until you realize 4G63 just identifies a 4-cylinder gas engine in the Mitsubishi Sirius family with a 2.0L displacement, but the seller’s writeup details indicate this particular example is not just any run-of-the-mill stock 4G63.
It’s a “built” high-performance turbo’d unit closer to what was equipped in the legendary Lancer Evo rally cars, and likely even more potent than any of the stock homologation Evos sold by dealers to retail street buyers.
