4A-GE Blacktop 6-Speed: 2001 Toyota Corolla

The Toyota Corolla is currently in its 12th generation of continuous production since 1966, but there are only a few generations that you could consider even remotely interesting to an enthusiast. The early cars are old and kooky that anything pre-1975 is considered “vintage” and some of the mid-80s AE86 Sprinter Trueno Corollas are modern classics, but anything after the 90s is mostly mushy styled econo-garbage for the masses. You can get them with a manual gearbox, but the engines are low in power and grandma’s and teenagers are the primary demographic…so it is nice to see one with a sweet Blacktop 4A-GE swap…dawg. This thing even has a 6-speed. Find this 2001 Toyota Corolla offered for $6500 in Milpitas, CA via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

What the hell is going on in that third photo on the listing that makes it relevant?
Ski racks?
Indoor parking structures with no light is slightly worse than gas stations at night for photography purposes.
Are you asking about the pic of the random junk in the passenger floor area, or the “pole” button. Is that what they mean by pole position. Or is that pole as in exotic dancing? I’m equally confused and intrigued.
The 6-speed manual was actually a factory option on these. I stumbled across one for sale a year ago and thought it must be a typo, so I dug deeper and found out you could order it with a 6-speed. Surprising.
