4300 lbs of Speed: 2003 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG W220

There are a few things wrong with this next car. Maybe that isn’t a nice thing to say, because there is almost always something wrong with a cheap late model used sport-lux sedan…but this next car has peeling paint and disabled air ride suspension…which you might not care about after you mash the loud pedal and hear the scream of a 5.4 liter supercharged all-alloy DOHC V8 that pushes out 493 horsepower and 516 ft-lbs of torques. It is not a ride for the weak of spirit or cash for repairs. Find this 2003 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG W220 offered for $8,600 in Stillwater, MN via facemelting bugsmashplace. Tip from Michael.

My son tells me a slightly different turbski setup would get this car to 600 horsepower. If there’s a cheaper way to drive a 500-600hp car someone please tell me where (EXACTLY) to find such a thing. 500hp has been a bucket list item for me for many years, and given how close this car is to me I am finding it hard not to make a poor financial (but brilliant automotive) decision on this one.
My bad — the son recommends a “smaller supercharger pulley” for increased power.
I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no such thing as a cheap 500hp German car. This is a ticking time bomb and is the reason it’s listed for less than 1/10th of what it cost new, and even with that, the asking price is double what it is worth. The only way to get really affordable high-HP these days is with an American pony car like a Mustang GT, Camaro SS, or Scatpack Charger (if you want 4 doors) and “cheap” is relative as even 7-year-old ones are bringing good money now due to the pLandemic.
It takes a lot of tools and training to keep one of these things on the road.
